ST.  GILES - BRIGHTON 2012

Brighton is an important cultural and educational centre known all over the world, 1 hour by train from London. St. Giles School in Brighton is located nearby the town library, swimming pool and shopping centre. In the school students may use language laboratory, multimedia studio and reading room. In the school's cafeteria they may eat tasty and cheap lunch.

Registration fee for all courses - 50 GBP.

STANDARD ENGLISH COURSES (1 to 23 weeks)

Courses start on every Monday from 10 January - 19 December inclusive, except on public holidays.
Where the Monday is public holiday, courses begin on Tuesday as follows (UK) 4 January, 26 April, 3 May, 31 May, 30 August.
English for Beginners start on 4 Jan, 4 Apr, 11 Jul, 5 Sep, 7 Nov.

The course fee does not include the price of the study book.  The book costs around 20-35 GBP.

ˇ On Saturdays and Sundays classes are not held and are not made up for. 
There is no possibility to make payments by instalment.

SEMESTER COURSES - International Semester Courses (ISC)
Courses with discount for students who stay at the course for 24 or more weeks and want maximal contact with English language, life and culture. It may include preparation for exams such as: IELTS, TOEFL, FCE, CAE or CPE. There is possibility to take afternoon Business English or tourism classes. Options mentioned above are included in the payment for whole-day ISC courses, but also are available for those taking part in morning courses for additional payment in the amount of 180 GBP for 4 weeks.

The courses is for people who did not learn English before or want to start learning from the very beginning. The course may also constitute the part of a longer course (e.g. semester course) -in such situation students are moved to the course for beginners after 4 weeks .

Dates: 3rd of January, 2nd of April, 9th of July, 3rd of September, 5th of November.
Prices: the same as for  28 weeks of Standard Course of English or as the part of semester course.

COURSE FOR MANAGING STAFF Business English and/or General English 
Platinum Course
This course is for persons who would like to learn as much as possible as soon as possible and have the best results. This course combines 20, 25, 30, 35 hours of general course in groups of max. 5 persons. Possible is also Platinum Individual Course. Lessons are designed to fulfill the expectations of the course participant. Every participant of the course before its start fills in the form which is the basis for a methodic specialist to create detailed programme of the course. 
During the course, apart from learning English there are classes dedicated to negotiations in English and professional communication in business. Participants of the course are persons at the age of 21+. The room and service at highest standard - including coffee etc. Courses on all levels.

Courses start every Monday apart from summer holidays and national holidays.

GENERAL ENGLISH plus INDIVIDUAL CLASSES - Platinum Plus

This course is a combination of Platinum Course and individual classes. Apart from classes in a group there are also 5 individual classes per week. This course is for people who want to learn a lot in a short period of time.

Prices: to the prices of Platinum courses there is additional payment added in the amount of 235 GBP per week for individual classes. If the participant wishes to have more than 5 individual classes per week, he/she may order more. Every additional lesson costs 47 GBP.
 

INDIVIDUAL CLASSES 

English Plus
It is a combination of every English course with individual classes every day (min. 5 classes per week) and is for persons who want improve their learning results.
Additional payment (5 lessons) :  195 GBP/week, 39 GBP for every next lesson.

General English 
Intensive General English Course for persons who want improve their learning results.

NOTES:
ˇ During afternoon classes (Business English) general issues regarding trade will be dealt with and students will discuss on trade topics. Writing reports, summaries, writing business letters etc. will also be covered. Students will have the opportunity to excercise these skills during simulated activities such as: interview, work interview, telephone calls, meetings, conference etc.

GENERAL COURSE + ENGLISH in TOURISM  (28 classes per week)

COURSES FOR TEACHERS (26 HOURS PER WEEK)
It is a course for teachers of English. It deals with newest teaching techniques and nuances in methodics. 
PRICES: 2 weeks - 620 GBP;

ACCOMMODATION BRIGHTON

NOTES:
ˇBooking of accommodation by an English family between 25-26.12.2012 r. (Christmas in England) requires additional payment in the amount of 25 GBP. In this time the price includes full board. 
- Accommodation available from Sunday before the course to Sunday after the course. Double rooms are available for persons who are going to the course together. If you do not have a partner and you want to live in the shared room you pay as for a single room - if the school finds a person to share the room with you, you will receive the rest of your money back at the end of the course. If you book the accommodation and you would like to keep your booking for the time of break that you plan you have to make 50% of total payment. Accommodation other than with a family available for students above 18. Younger participants should have a written agreement of parents to live in a residence, hotel etc.

ˇ Accommodation in a hotel - price depends on the standard of the hotel, type of the room and meals and usually is from 43 to 123 GBP for night. All hotels are located nearby the school. More information concerning types of accommodation you may get at College of Foreign Languages LEXIS. 

Transfer from the airport

Price for transfer from the airport to the place of accommodation:
- from London Heathrow - 103 GBP
- from London Gatwick -  47 GBP
- from Luton - 136 GBP 
- from Stansted - 136 GBP 
- from London City - 141 GBP

It is price for one-way transfer. Waiting time if you or your flight are delayed more than one hour: 21 GBP per hour.  For two or more persons sharing a taxi, there is a supplement of 6 GBP per person for hour . 

How to become the student at St. Giles Colleges?

All issues concerning the course, booking, arrival, journey etc. may be settled in person or by mail at College of Foreign Languages  "LEXIS" or with our Representative. When you choose the course, accommodation and other services you are asked to fill in the application form, sign the contract and pay the agreed amount in PLN on our bank account "LEXIS". The application form, one copy of the contract and confirmation of payment should be sent to us by mail or fax, so that we receive it 2 weeks before the course starts (persons from other towns contact our Representative).

Before you leave you will receive:

ˇ confirmation of the admission to the course together with a special letter for the border authorities in Great Britain so that you do not have any problems entering Great Britain,
ˇ ticket for your journey - if you leave from Warsaw (persons leaving from other cities in Poland contact our Representative),
ˇ confirmation of the booking of your accommodation together with the address, telephone and short characteristic of the host family,
ˇ bill for all services you paid for.
