Internship Programme
Make your chances on job market bigger by gaining professional experience in one of the British or international companies in the branch you are interested in.  

Internship Programme includes 8 weeks of Intensive English Course and a non-paid internship in one of the British or international companies. The internship lasts ate least 3 months for persons from EU/EEA countries and 5 months for persons from other countries. English course takes place at Kings Bournemouth or Kings London, the internship may be wherever in Great Britain (depending on the location of the company the student would like to work at).
We do our best to give our students work that really interests them, e.g. retail trade, design, hotel services, banking, insurance, computer studies.

Price includes

8-week Intensive English Course:

  • 28 lessons per week (21 hours) at Kings Bournemouth or Kings London (8 weeks)

  • general English classes in the morning

  • range of additional options in the afternoon , among others: Business English, preparation for IELTS

  • qualification test after the arrival, regular assessment tests and homeworks

  • Kings brochure, learning materials, handbook for self-study

  • access to the materials for self-study

  • free access to the Internet

  • Certificate of the completion of the course

  • 8 weeks of accommodation with the host family (details below) 

Programme of the Internship includes:

  • full-time internship in a company (non-paid)
  • proper training provided by the employer
  • help during the internship
  • Cambridge CIE Advanced Certificate in Work Placement for students from the outside of EUEEA

Structure of the course

Section 1): 8 weeks of Intensive English Course Intensive English Course includes 28 classes per week (21 hours). The programme of the course covers general English classes as well as additional options such as: Business English or preparation for IELTS. We require the students to take part in Business option at least for 6 weeks.
Section 2): Internship After the completion of  Intensive English Course, the students start a non-paid internship in one of the British or international companies. The internship lasts at least 3 months for the participants from EU/EEA countries and 5 months for the rest of the students.

All students from the outside of the EU should get CIE Cambridge Certificate in Work Placement at Advanced level during the programme.

Duration Students from EU/EEA countries take 8 weeks of the English course and 12 weeks of the internship (together 5 months).
Students from other countries take 8 weeks of the English course and and 20 weeks of the internship (together 7 months).
Level We require students to know English at least on intermediate level (IELTS 4.5 or First Certificate) in the beginning of the course. Students on lower level should earlier complete longer intensive course. All students have to take qualification test before the registration. 
Minimal age of the participants 20 (approximately: 20-25 years)

Homework about 1 hour a day (4-6 hours per week).
Trips Once a week the school organizes weekend trips to known cities and touristic attractions. Price of the trip is £20 - £30. More information in  Free Time.
Attractions The school organizes after-classes activities, among others: volleyball, basketball, football, student parties, DVD shows. Some activities are free, and for some you have to pay. More information in Free Time.
Notes Students from the outside of the EU/EEA have to get Cambridge CIE Advanced Certificate in Work Placement during the internship.

Programmes "Work and Study" are for students who are responsible and involved in the work.

8 weeks of accommodation with an English family is included in the price of the course. After the completion of the course, usually it is the employer who guarantees the accommodation. If the employer is not able to guarantee the accommodation, the emplyers of Kings will help you suitable place. Costs of accommodation are not included in the price of the course.

The students participate in qualification interviews before they start to work. It usually lasts 1-2 weeks.

Price of the course does not include the costs of transport from the school/ host family to the work.etc.

Important notes on accommodation

Homestay accommodation includes breakfast and dinner every day and also a light lunch at weekends. 
Laundry is not included but is available for a supplement of £5 per week. 
The host family provides bedding but please bring your own towels. 
Accommodation is available from the Saturday or Sunday before the course begins. 
Residential accommodation: student residence in the town centre. Facilities include private bathrooms for all bedrooms, kitchen corners in twin bedrooms, communal kitchens, laundry, 24-hour security. The price includes clean bedding on arrival. There after the students are responsible for washing their own bedding and for cleaning their room. Please bring your own towels. 
High season late booking supplement: in July / August, we reserve the right to apply a late-booking accommodation supplement of £20 per week to students who book less than 10 days before arrival. 
Re-booking fee: an accommodation re-booking fee of £20 may be charged if a student unreasonably requests too many changes of accommodation.
