ST. GILES LONDON HIGHGATE 2008   

St. Giles School of English has two branches in London, one in the city centre, second in the north district of Great Britain's capital city - Highgate. Virtue of this branch is its location near the green areas of Highgate Woods and Hampstead Heath. The school has a big garden, where many recreation activities and grill parties take place. School's library has its own audio-visual equipment, access to the Internet and reading room. There is also cafeteria in the school, where you can eat tasty and not expensive meals.

Registration fee for all courses - 50 GBP.

STANDARD ENGLISH COURSES in LONDON
lesson = 50 min.
 

Price includes: booking of the course, information package, lessons, basic handbooks, using language laboratories and school's library, report and certificate of the completion of the course, gifts from St. Giles.

Price does not include: accommodation and booking of accommodation, trips, theatre tickets, examination fees, transfer from the airport to the place of accommodation.

> On Saturdays and Sundays as well as on following days: 1 January, 21 and 24 March, 5 and 26 May,  25 August and between 25 and 26 December 2008 classes are not held are not made up for.
There is no possibility to pay by instalments.

SEMESTER COURSE (ISC)

English course with discount for students who want to stay in London for 24 or more weeks and have maximal contact with British culture and every-day life. Semester course  may optionally include preparation for IELTS, TOEFL, FCE, CAE, CPE Examinations. These options are included in the price of the course, but they are also available for additional payment in the amount of 180 GBP/ 4 weeks for students attending morning classes.

INDIVIDUAL CLASSES 

English Plus
It is a combination of every English course with individual classes every day (min 5 classes/week) and is for persons who want to improve their learning results.
Additional charge (5 lessons) :  166 GBP/week, 33 GBP for every next lesson.

General English 
Intensive General English course for people who want to improve their learning results. Convenient discounts, individual classes perfect for beginners starting the course on days other that the proposed dates of the start. Classes 1-14 per week charge is 44 GBP/lesson.

ENGLISH COURSES FOR TEACHERS (TEC) (26 HOURS PER WEEK)

Course for teachers of English. Newest teaching techniques and nuances in methodics are discussed.

ENGLISH + Internship

Persons choosing the course that lasts 4 or more weeks have the opportunity to test themselves at work for 4 weeks or more. Dates of the the start and charges the same as for general courses. Charge for finding a job 460 GBP (internship 4-7 weeks) or 540 GBP (internship 8-12 weeks).

CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR COURSE

Accommodation - London Highgate

Accommodation is available on Sunday evening before the start of the course to Sunday after the end of the course. Students who chose double room pay as for a single room if one person resigns or there is no roommate for this person. Extra money that you paid for double room will be returned to you after the end of the course.
 

NOTES:
· *-Booking of the accommodation with a British family between 21and 27.12.2008 (Christmas in England) requires additional payment in the amount of 40 GBP. In this time the price includes full board.
- Accommodation available from Sunday before the course to Sunday after the course. Double rooms available for persons going on the course together. If you do not have a roommate and you would like to live in a double room, you pay as for a single room - if the school finds a roommate for you, you will get the extra money you paid at the end of the course. If you book accommodation and you want to keep the booking during the break that you plan you have to pay 50% of the price. Other type of accommodation is available for persons over 18 years old. Younger students should have a written agreement of their parents to live in residences, hotels etc.
 

FLATS  - 10 min. from the school, no meals

Luxurious furnished flats with equipped kitchen and bathroom. Using the Internet, gym, gas, electricity, water - included in the price. For one person - 240 GBP per week. For two persons 340 GBP per week.

RESIDENCES - 15 minutes from the school by bus

Chester House  (18 - 25 years) smoking and drinking alcohol forbidden. All meals except for dinners on weekends  - 140 GBP - single room;  150 - single room (from 25 May - 31 September) higher standard (single room with own bathroom) - 243 GBP - prices for one week.

Furnival House (from 18 years) available only from 29 June to 7 September, you prepare meals on your own, accommodation from Saturday before the start of the course to Saturday after the course. 165 GBP / week for single room.

HOTELS and GUESTHOUSES - prices for a night in a room with breakfast

Muswell Hill Hotel 48 GBP single room; 71 GBP room shared with another person

Comfort Hotel, Finchley - 93 GBP (Monday-Thursday), 83 GBP (Friday - Sunday) single rooms and shared rooms have the same price.

Transfer from the airport

Charge for the transfer from the airport to the place of accommodation is:
- from London Heathrow - 66 GBP
- from London Gatwick, Luton, Stansted - 76 GBP
- from  London City - 66 GBP

This is the price for one-way transfer. For waiting for the student (e.g. if the flight is delayed) you have to pay additionally 10 GBP for every hour above 1 hour of the delay.
 

How to become the student at St. Giles Colleges?

All issues concerning the course, booking, arrival, journey etc. may be settled in person or by mail at College of Foreign Languages  "LEXIS" or with our Representative. When you choose the course, accommodation and other services you are asked to fill in the application form, sign the contract and pay the agreed amount in PLN on our bank account "LEXIS". The application form, one copy of the contract and confirmation of payment should be sent to us by mail or fax, so that we receive it 2 weeks before the course starts (persons from other towns contact our Representative).

Before you leave you will receive:

· confirmation of the admission to the course together with a special letter for the border authorities in Great Britain so that you do not have any problems entering Great Britain,
· ticket for your journey - if you leave from Warsaw (persons leaving from other cities in Poland contact our Representative),
ˇ confirmation of the booking of your accommodation together with the address, telephone and short characteristic of the host family,
ˇ bill for all services you paid for.
